WHAT WE DID

YEAR-MAKE-MODEL SEARCH FOR WHEELS AND TIRES

WheelWiz has a complex lookup that allows users to choose between searching by vehicle, tire size, wheel size, and by keywords. The Year-Make-Model Search for wheel and tires requires proper YMM fitment applications to work correctly. And a few data providers offer the list of vehicles into which a particular wheel or tire will fit. Fitment Group’s data resolve this for the WheelWiz website.

We explained this issue in more detail in this article.

VEHICLE INFO

The new feature WheelWiz asked our team to develop is Vehicle Info. It’s a table with detailed information about position, size, bolt pattern, offset, hub, and tire that is configured depending on a selected vehicle. This table explains to the user why he or she sees these particular wheels and not the others.

On WheelWiz’s website, the Vehicle Info table is configured with data provided by Fitment Group. But we can also use DriveRightData or data provided by the merchant.

UPSIZE/DOWNSIZE FILTER

Another new feature we designed for the WheelWiz website is Upsize/Downsize filter. It allows shoppers to narrow down the product results to particular rim size. As you can see, with a selected rim size, the vehicle info is changing as well.

TIRE SIZE OPTION

Some rim options suggest a new Tire Size Option filter. It further narrows down the results, so the user sees only tires of a definite size.

HUBCENTRIC FILTER

Another feature that was designed for WheelWiz is a hubcentric filter. It narrows down the results to the wheels that perfectly match the vehicle's hub.

TPMS UPSELL BANNER

Our team integrated several upselling features into the WheelWiz store. When users go to the cart, where they already added some wheels, they see a banner “Need TPMS sensors?”. By clicking on it, the user gets to the page with TPMS sensors that will fit their vehicle.

TIRES UPSELL

Another upselling feature is also inside the cart. When the user adds wheels to the cart, the question “Need tires?” appears under the product information.

When shoppers click on it, they get redirected to the search results page with all tires compatible with the wheel they have already added to the cart.

YEAR-MAKE-MODEL-SUBMODEL IN THE CART / ORDER CONFIRMATION / ORDER DETAILS

It will never be superfluous to check one more time whether the selected parts fit the client’s vehicle or not.

The user can see vehicle information inside the cart before proceeding to checkout.

Then the Year-Make-Model-Submodel as a separate field on the confirmation page reminds the shopper one more time for which car he selected the parts. So that, if the vehicle is not right, he or she can cancel the order before it will be processed.

A similar feature is available for a store manager. He or she sees the selected vehicle information inside the order details. If there was some mistake made while selecting parts store manager can prevent unpleasant product returns.

Sometimes users get to the cart without selecting a vehicle. It would be nice to remind them to check if the product they want to buy is compatible with their car. The widget pictured below does just it. Users have the option to select the year-make-model, type the name of the vehicle, or decide not to share this information.

This widget protects merchants from potential complaints when users forget to specify the vehicle and get parts that don’t fit it.

SEARCH BY BRAND FOR WHEELS AND TIRES

Shopping for wheels and tires is slightly different from shopping for parts. Also, different website visitors have different shopping styles. For example, some users want to choose a particular brand and see what parts the store offers. That’s why we created a dedicated page to shop wheels by brand.

And shop tires by brand.
