Fall '25 Release: multilanguage support, indexing control & more
Over the past few months, we’ve rolled out several upgrades across our Shopify and BigCommerce apps. Two major highlights: our Shopify app is now fully multilingual, and the Fitment Editor has been rebuilt with a better workflow.
And, of course, SEMA Show 2025 was a lot of fun for us. We can’t wait to return next year.
Here’s everything new inside Convermax.
UX & UI Updates
[1] Control your own indexing
Now, inside our Shopify and BigCommerce apps, you can set your own indexing schedule. You decide how often your data refreshes:
Every 8 or 12 hours for all users.
Or, if you’re on Stage 1 or higher, every 1 or 4 hours.
[2] Auto-Opening YMM Dropdowns
Now, the dropdowns can open automatically. When a visitor lands on your homepage, the first dropdown opens on its own. Once they choose a value, the next dropdown expands automatically, reducing the number of required clicks.
This small UX improvement creates a smoother shopping journey for your website visitors and gently encourages them to choose their vehicle first.
It’s now easier and faster to connect with the SSF fitment data provider. While Convermax has supported SSF integration for a while, storing and keeping SSF data fresh has been tricky. Our new solution connects our search engine directly to SSF and automatically reindexes the data to keep it up to date at all times.
Soon, a dedicated SSF integration section will be added to our Shopify and BigCommerce apps, making setup even easier.
Fitment Editor got a little reinvention to ensure better workflow.
We redesigned the fitment editor to make managing external and manual fitments simpler and more transparent.
What’s new:
[1] A new fitments merging process
We changed how external and editor fitments work together.
Previously, the editor overrode everything; we used only the editor's fitments and ignored external sources. Now we merge both sources:
We first collect fitments from external providers (with the same priority rules as before).
Then we apply your editor changes:
Excluded fitments → removed from the external set
Included fitments → added on top of the external set.
Merchants get a unified list of editor and external fitments working in sync.
[2] Include / Exclude for external fitments.
We’ve added a new Included/Excluded toggle located in the Fitments section of the Editor. Instead of uploading every existing fitment from the search index to remove a few, you can now simply exclude only the ones you don’t need with a single click. Excluded fitments won’t be added during indexing.
This feature is live for all Shopify and BigCommerce app users.
[3] The action “Override and Edit” was removed.
[4] Source column added
You can now see exactly where every fitment came from: external source or editor.
[5] Inline actions.
All controls now live directly inside each row. No more bulk selection.
[6] Improved notes
Notes are now always visible, and you can add or edit notes for external fitments without breaking sync.
[7] Choose where to store your data from the Fitment Editor
When you add a fitment using the Fitment Editor, it is now saved as a product metafield. New stores that use our app will store data in metafields by default. If you have an existing store, your data will still use database mode, but you can switch to metafields in the app settings. We now use multiline YAML as the new default format. If you’re adding data manually, just follow the same YAML format. Learn more in the guide here.
We've updated the order in which fitment data sources are prioritised, based on your storage method:
Database fitments → metafield fitments → custom fitments
Metafield fitments → Database fitments → custom fitments
Our Shopify App is now multilingual + other updates
[1] Convermax app on Shopify now supports different languages.
Our app is now fully translatable. Our engineers build the foundation for proper multilingual support across all storefronts, making the app’s UI easy to localise. Out of the box, Convermax now supports English, French, Spanish, and German, with the ability to add any other language your store needs. Previously, translating text in our frontend was a complicated process. With the new system, your store can be localised without HTML or other tricks. What you can now translate:
Facet titles,
Fitment field labels,
Sorting options,
Autocomplete section names,
“Clear”, “Sort by”, “Current vehicle”, etc.,
and other interface texts.
If you sell internationally, customizing Convermax app just got much easier.
[2] Vehicle Landing Page block in Shopify Collections
We added a new Vehicle Landing Page block in the Collections section of your Shopify Dashboard. You no longer need to enter metafield values manually. Instead, select values in the Year-Make-Model lookup and instantly link a collection page to a specific vehicle, range, etc. The block supports all fields marked as Fitment Search fields, not just Year, Make, Model, and Submodel.
This update helps you avoid errors while manually entering values, set up collection pages more quickly and with less effort.
[3] Search filter for the Fitments block in the Shopify store admin
We added a search filter to the Fitments app block, so you can quickly look for the fitment values you need without scrolling through pages. Previously, if you wanted to check whether a specific fitment existed, you had to click through multiple pages. Now, you simply type, search, and check it faster.
[4] Collection Header App Block
We’ve added a new Collection Header block that you can add directly from the Shopify theme editor.
In the past, the native Shopify collection header disappeared when we disabled the product grid during onboarding. It was required to manually recreate it for each customer. Now, the process is simple and automatic. You can just add the header via the App block and configure it the way you need it.
You can customize:
Collection elements: show/hide image, title, description
Title style: choose H1, H2, or H3
Image placement: left, right, or as a background
Text appearance: adjust title size, description size, text color
Layout: set image width (px), background color, alignment (left/center/right)
Spacing: adjust top/bottom padding and margin
[5] Customizable Tabs for YMM Lookup
Many store owners — especially wheel & tire retailers — prefer using Year Make Model lookup with tabs on the homepage instead of a flat version. Usually, it includes such tabs as search by vehicle, search by wheels, and search by tires. Sometimes merchants prefer to add other options: search by VIN, Keyword, Brand, SKU, etc. Before, these tabs had to be built manually using custom code. And if the customer wanted to make some changes to the looku,p it required a support ticket, extra work and time. Now, merchants can create and customise their tabs directly from the Shopify Theme Editor.
You have full control over the look and behavior of your tabs:
Header font size
Header text color (active + inactive state)
Background color (active + inactive)
Border width, radius, and color
Gap between tab headers
Spacing between headers and content
Enable or disable individual tabs
Edit tab labels
Top/bottom padding
Stretch tabs full-width (depending on theme)
