WHAT WE DID
Timbren has an unusual search box in full website width. It allows shoppers to see keyword suggestions on the left side, and large-scale product recommendations on the right one.
Another interesting decision is that Year-Make-Model lookup appears inside the Garage widget by clicking the button “Add more vehicles”. The standard Garage feature usually activates a full-length dialog window with YMM selectors.
Merchants can control how the Convermax search engine works on their websites. In Timbren's case, the Year-Make-Model selector has 5 dropdowns, but as the user starts to select a vehicle the number of dropdowns can shrink based on what the user chooses and what data this car store has.
Also, Timbren wanted their users to always have quick access to Garage. So it’s located not only at the top menu near the search box as usual but also near the year-make-model selector and inside the "Verify fitment" widget.
In cases when the search returns null results, the button "Contact us" appears.
As Timbren specializes in products for trailers, the search engine returns results for all trailer-related queries even if they don’t fit the vehicle in the Garage.
The same happens to the items in the product collections. The products are shown no matter if they match the selected vehicle or not.
