Summer ’26 Release: AI suggester, UI Translations, and more.

Most of the features we released this summer were designed to help you avoid writing extra support tickets and waiting for our team to help. Now, with just a few simple steps, you can handle things yourself: edit translations, update and research fitment data, and customize the search UI to fit your needs.

AI Suggester

Finding fitment for a product usually means searching the vendor's site, opening a catalog page, and copying vehicle rows by hand. Merchants selling auto parts on Shopify can now hand that research to AI Suggester and review what it comes back with. You'll find a "Suggest" button next to "Command" in the Fitment Editor inside the Convermax app for Shopify. Pick a product that's missing fitment and run a suggestion.

Here's how it works.

The agent searches the web for your vendor SKU, opens the pages it finds, and pulls fitment data from them. It also reads your own store data, including descriptions, tags, and fitment on similar SKUs, so the results match your catalog instead of a generic listing. Every suggested value gets checked: against your catalog if the vehicle is already there, against the VCdb if it isn't (you need an active VCdb subscription).

What comes back:

  • Vehicle rows

  • Creation candidates, meaning vehicles it found that your catalog doesn't have yet

  • A universal-fit or non-vehicle verdict

  • An abstention, when it couldn't resolve the product and says so instead of guessing.

The agent is read-only. It never writes fitment itself. You review the proposal in a side panel and click Accept to apply it. Each store gets 100 suggestion runs per day, 3 at a time.

Available now for Shopify and BigCommerce stores selling auto parts; it doesn’t work for wheels and tires yet. If you've never used the Fitment Editor before, reach us, and we'll activate it for you. We also welcome your feedback; please email us at team@convermax.com.

Fitment Editor Updates

We’ve rebuilt Fitment Editor, making it even more convenient to manage fitment data.

Bulk actions now run on commands

We’ve redesigned Bulk Actions in the Fitment Editor to make it more flexible. We replaced selecting dropdowns with Commands. Now merchants can use a command-based workflow, making it easier to add, remove, or update fitment data across hundreds of products. Just select several products where you want to add a new vehicle application, pick the values from the dropdown menu, and click Apply.

If you need to handle more complex situations, you can use the toggle to switch to the text editor and write commands yourself. You can learn more about supported commands and examples in our documentation: https://docs.convermax.com/convermax/fitment-editor-commands/

Operations History

Adding new vehicles is easy now, but have you ever changed fitment data and then wondered what happened to it? You can check.

Previously, edits were not tracked. With our new update, we record every fitment change, whether you use the bulk editor, the single-product editor, or AI assistants through our MCP. Each change is logged in Fitment Editor.

The new Operations History page lists every operation, including the date, user, full command, changes made, and which products were affected, with direct links to their editors. You can click any command to view all details or copy it instantly. The bulk editor also saves your recent commands, making it easy to reuse them.

Universal Fitment and Non-Vehicle Products

Products that fit everything and products that are not vehicle-specific no longer need to be labeled one at a time. Open the product table, select what you want, and apply Universal Fit or Non-Vehicle-Specific in one action.

AI Tools & MCP

Convermax MCP Update: fitment coverage, products, and vehicle exports

Our new tools help you spot gaps in your fitment data and see which brands or products need attention. Now, when you connect our MCP, you can ask your AI assistant to:

  • Run a fitment health check that shows how many products are Vehicle Specific, Universal, or missing fitment data. You’ll also see percentages and an overall coverage score.

  • Get an export of your products, filtered by any indexed field like vendor, category, fitment status, price, or by a search query.

  • Pull a list of your catalog’s vehicles or a fitment coverage report.

If you ask for something that doesn't exist in your store or misspell a brand or category, it won’t just give you a blank file. Instead, it points out the mistake and suggests what you probably meant.

This is useful for deciding where to start a data cleanup and for checking the quality of it once you're done. Tell us what else you'd want it to do: at team@convermax.com.

Guided Search Assistant

We are testing a new Guided Search Assistant that helps shoppers find the right parts by chatting with them.

Now, instead of clicking through filters and categories, customers can just tell what they need. For example:

Shopper: Any spring for my thundra?

Assistant: What year and trim of Toyota Tundra do you have? If you know whether you want front or rear springs, that helps too.

Shopper: 2020 plat

The assistant shows results for the 2020 Tundra Platinum.

The assistant checks the store’s catalog and fitment data to find products that match what shoppers need. It then shows these recommendations right in the chat.

This feature is still being tested and may change before it is fully rolled out.

Search UI Translations

If your store sells in more than one language, you can now translate everything Convermax puts on your storefront, without code and without a support ticket. The new feature is now available for both the Shopify and BigCommerce apps. If you use BigCommerce and want to add a language besides English, you will need to add the corresponding language key to your locales. We are working on making it possible to add a new locale directly from the app in our next update.

Translating Widgets

To get started, open Settings and select Translations. Choose the language your store uses, and you’ll see all the widget texts listed. You can search for needed elements by widget, key, or specific words. Make your changes, click Save, and your storefront will update within a few minutes. The State label shows whether the text is our default, your own edit, or an English fallback when a translation isn’t set. If needed, you can reset any text to the original with one click.

Filter Translations

You can translate facet names and values right from the Convermax app too.

You have two options to access translations. You can open a filter’s settings and click Translate to go straight to that specific filter’s translation page. Or, you can open the Translations page to work on several filter values at once.

YMM Values Translations

Also, you can translate your Year Make Model filter values. That means the vehicle options your shoppers choose, like Make, Model, Submodel, and others, can show up in your store's language.

You can now translate values for every fitment field except Year (which stays as numbers). Since the values come from the same structure as your filter titles, each one matches up with its parent field.

Integrations

Integrations Page

We've replaced the Data Sources page with a new Integrations page in the Shopify and BigCommerce apps, so you can see everything you can connect to your store in one place.

Instead of a plain list of fitment sources, you now get a catalog of integrations with filters, so you can quickly find the one you're looking for. The catalog includes Fitment Sources, Wheels & Tires search, and Reviews.

New Fitment Sources

American Tire Distributors (ATD)

If you get your tires or wheels from ATD, you can now power your Year-Make-Model search with ATD's fitment data without submitting a support ticket. Now, you can add it directly in our Shopify and BigCommerce apps or through the Convermax Dashboard.

Here's how it works:

  1. Enter your ATD Location Number in the Convermax app (Shopify, BigCommerce) or the Convermax Dashboard (all other platforms).

  2. We verify it with ATD right away.

  3. Our team finishes the setup and emails you the moment it's live.

Once it's running, your store's Year-Make-Model search uses ATD's vehicle fitment data along with detailed tire and wheel specs (such as sizes, speed ratings, load index, bolt patterns, and offsets), so shoppers get more accurate filtering and search results.

Tire Library

Tire Library is a professional database with information on over 240,000 tires by size, specs, or vehicle. Its data can help your customers find the right fit for their car. To set it up, just enter your Tire Library API key in our Shopify or BigCommerce apps, or use the Convermax Dashboard.

Wheel Pros

Wheel Pros is now available again as a fitment source. Our previous integration wasn't ideal, but now we use their Vehicle Search API, and it gives your store accurate fitment data for wheels and tires.

If you want to use Wheel Pros as your source, you need to ask them for permission to use their Vehicle Search API. After they approve your request, you can connect it in our Shopify or BigCommerce apps or through the Convermax Dashboard.

App & Dashboard Updates

Convermax Search API

Developers and design teams can now build directly on Convermax. The Search API gives you the same engine that powers our apps, whether you're building a custom storefront or connecting Convermax to another system. What you can run through the API:

  • Keyword Search

  • Faceted Filtering

  • Sorting

  • Recommendations

  • Autocomplete Suggestions

  • Year Make Model Search

If your team wants to build on top of Convermax, read the full guide here: https://docs.convermax.com/developers/api/

Shopify indexing is now 3–4 times faster

If your store runs on Shopify, catalog updates now reach search much sooner. Shopify's recent API update lets apps run five bulk queries at once per shop instead of one.

We rebuilt our indexing pipeline around it, so the indexer now downloads all your paginated bulk data — products, collections, and market publications — over several parallel streams rather than one after another. The result is indexing three to four times faster. Add a product, update fitment, or adjust your catalog, and the change shows up in your storefront search much more quickly.

A redesigned Home tab

We've reworked the Home tab in the Shopify and BigCommerce apps.

The Search Index section is easier to read: five labels now tell you exactly what state indexing is in, and you can see your three most recent indexing runs at a glance.

Updates is a new section listing the titles of our latest releases. Click one to read it in full.

Index Rollback

If a bad data update leaves your search results looking wrong, you can now roll them back yourself. Find the version you want in the Recent Runs list, click Restore, and confirm.

The confirmation window carries one warning worth reading: any products added since that version won't appear in search until you run indexing again. After you confirm, your store switches to the earlier index immediately.

Available in both the Shopify and BigCommerce apps and in the Convermax Dashboard.

Reports Subscription

Search insights reports can now arrive in your inbox on their own, so you don't have to log in and download them every month. Go to the Dashboard, subscribe to a report email, choose the reports you want, and they'll show up monthly. Change your selection or unsubscribe whenever you like.

A few details worth knowing:

  • Each store needs its own subscription, even stores that belong to the same company. Manage them all in My Profile → Email Notifications → Search Reports.

  • You get one email containing a single archive with the CSV files for every report you're subscribed to.

  • Emails go out on the 1st of each month and cover the previous month, so you start each month with a fresh snapshot.

Search Engine UI

Garage customization in Shopify

The My Garage widget is now yours to style from the Shopify Theme Editor. Pick an icon that matches what you sell:

  • Generic Garage

  • Truck

  • ATV

  • Motorcycle

  • Car (Side View)

  • Car (Front View)

You can also change the icon color to match your store's branding.

If none of the icons match your theme, you can upload your own. You can adjust your custom icon using Shopify AI in the Theme Editor. Shopify AI can also generate a ready-to-use image based on your prompt.

We’ve also added a Custom CSS field to every Convermax app block. This lets merchants and developers have more control over the appearance of their widgets.

These updates are part of our ongoing effort to minimize the need for support team contact for minor tweaks and changes.

YMM lookup: new “Go” button behavior

The new YMM lookup mode helps shoppers make sure they select every option. If someone chooses Make and Model but forgets to pick Year, clicking "Go" will open the Year dropdown instead of starting the search. After they pick the last option, they go right to the search results without any extra steps.

This feature is turned off by default. Your store will keep the usual Go button behavior unless you ask us to turn on the new mode.
